Spanish prize open to journalists worldwide
News photos and Spanish-language reporting from any country in the world are eligible for a prize that seeks to honor press freedom, independence and accuracy as important virtues.
The Spanish newspaper El País organizes the Ortega y Gasset Awards for print journalists. There are three categories: photojournalism, investigative report and news report. Submission deadline: March 31.
The photojournalism winner will receive € 15,000 (about US$ 17,970), and the two print winners will split the same amount. Works published in any newspaper or magazine in 2005 are eligible for the prize. Send two copies of the work to el Diario El País S.L., Miguel Yuste, 40, 28037, Madrid, España.
